The Executive Committee of the CRES Amateur Radio Club consists of four elected officers, the immediate past president, and three appointed directors. Please meet the members of your Executive Committee for 2006: Your elected officers: + President: Bill Erwin/N9CX First licensed in 1964, Bill has been a club member since the late 1980's. He enjoys working PSK31, CW, packet, and voice in that order. Bill is an inveterate hardware tinkerer who enjoys designing and fabricating homebrew equipment. Visit Bill's home page at to find out more about our club President. + Vice President: Dave Brown/K8AX A long term club member and Lucent retiree, Dave was first licensed as a teenager. He moved to Columbus in the 1970s and has been active in the club ever since. Dave enjoys both CW and voice (especially QRP), HF and VHF operations, and the occasional hardware project. He is a lifetime member of the ARRL, and also enjoys bicycling in his spare time. + Secretary/Treasurer: Rob Stampfli/KD8WK A ham and club member since 1985, Rob has served in several capacities within the club, including President, Vice President, News Editor, and Secretary/Treasurer. Rob retired from Lucent in 2001. Along with his CRES-ARC membership, Rob belongs to several square dance clubs, and an investment club. His interests also extend to many aspects of computers, programming, and the internet. + Equipment Manager: Stu Steenburgh/KB8DEO A long-time ham and club member, Stu is an Engineer for Lucent Technologies. His interests in ham radio include severe weather spotting and weather nets. Stu is also active in a local Explorer Post. Appointments: + Station Trustee: Mike Rauh/W8GT A long-time ham, and club member since 2001, Mike is an Engineer with Andrew Corp. In addition to his club responsibilites, Mike has spent the last year erecting a 150 foot tower for 40-meter DXing, and recently ran a DX station from Panama. + Contest Coordinator: Bob Cartwright/W3CRZ Bob was first licensed in 1955, and retired from his job at Lucent in the late 1990s. He was President of the CRES-ARC in 1969-1970, and Equipment Manager in 1980-1981. Bob is affiliated with the Central Ohio ARES group and enjoys participating in Field Day each year. + VE Liaison: Art Grandle/KD8ZG A recent retiree from Agere, Art has long been active in the club, and has held several positions, including that of President in the mid-80s. Art enjoys working with electronics and restoring old cars in his free time. He is a member of a local car club. + Past President: Tricia Kovacs/KC8HIH A club member since 1998, and a former Vice President, Tricia is an Engineer with Lucent Technologies. Besides her interest in ham radio, Tricia is an avid bicyclist, and an officer in the CRES Cycling Club.
