Six members and one visitor were present. All elected or appointed officers were in attendance except the Treasurer / Secretary. President Gordon Lashley called the meeting to order and welcomed those present. All present introduced them selves. Congratulations to Robert Northrup KC8PSW who just obtained his technician license and David Jeffords KC8ORL for upgrade to general. December meeting minutes and treasurer report are postponed until the next meeting. Old Business: Dave Woof – Repeater voter discussion with Doug Hall. Additional action required. Art Grandle – Repeater antenna grounding. Additional action required. Art Grandle - Repeater antenna replacement coil will be replaced when antenna is grounded. President - Dues are payable to Rob Stampfli, Treasurer / Secretary and the Club Room door code will be changed in February. Rob will provide the door code to current members. Jerry Scott - CQ-WE contest results submitted to committee. Local scores were slightly better than previous year and individual scores showed improvement. New national coordinator is named and a link for information is available from the Club Web Site. CQ-WE contest for 2001 will be November 10, 11, and 12. New Business: Art Grandle - Amateur Radio exams will be in April, August, and December. Dave Woofe is coordinating location. Tom Hartman - Can antenna configuration diagram be up dated? Jerry Scott will review and up date. What do I do if I want to operate in Canada? Group recommended checking ARRL web site at http://www.arrl.net for information. Robert Northrup - When is Dayton Hamvention? May 18, 19, and 20. Suggest no hole 2 Meter antenna for pick up with fiberglass top. Group recommended glass mount but use caution if tinted glass and a magnet mount. Is there a membership list and can it be posted on web site? Rob Stampfli should have one. President will get suitable list for possible posting. President - Next meeting is February 21 at 11:30 in the Executive Council Room (Conference room next to the east cafeteria). President presented certificate of appreciation to last year officers for their support of the CRES Amateur Radio Club. President's Comments: The president would like to develop a calendar of events, suggests awards for Columbus Works CQ-WE contest participates, have at least one outside meeting during year, guest speaker for several meeting, like topic input from members, encourage others to attend and offer suggestions for programs and activities.
