The CRES Amateur Radio Club held a meeting over lunch on Wednesday,
21 February 2001.  The meeting was called to order by President Gordy
Lashley/WD8CZG at 11:40 AM.  Those in attendance were:  K9RV, WB9PXH,
WB7AIZ, N8YXK, KD8BJ, KC8HIH, KC8ORL, WD8CZG, WD8EBS, KD8WK, and KD8ZG.

The Treasurer reported $953.37 was on deposit in Telhio, $23.61 in
petty cash, $9.51 on deposit with the CRES Club, and $10 in undeposited
dues.  Dues for the 2001 calendar year are now being collected.  The
access code has been changed for the club room, and only those renewing
their membership will be eligible to receive it.

Gordy reported that Apr 7th, Aug 4th, and tentatively Dec 8th are the
dates for the club sponsored VE Exams, although Art Grandle/KD8ZG is still
in the process of confirming Apr 7th with Parkview Presbyterian Church
where the next exams will be held.  The Aug 4th site will be at the
Columbus Hamfest at the Aladdin Shrine Temple.

Art reported he had spoken with building maintenance about grounding
the repeater tower/antenna, and they had "put it back on their to-do
list".  However, with the building up for sale, it is questionable if
they will get to it.

Gordy indicated he'd like to have a volunteer to coordinate this Field Day
event (in June).  If interested, contact Gordy.

Gordy has asked Dave Woolf/K8RSP, Art, Mike Stansbery/WD8EBS, and Jerry
Scott/K9RV, along with himself, to serve as a technical team for the
repeater.  Dave will coordinate this team.

It was reported that the Executive Committee of the club has met late
last month to discuss pressing items.

The secretary will create aliases for the officers, which can be used
for email.

Some discussion ensued about potential upcoming talks to coincide with
future club meetings.  Bob Kenyon/K8LJ will speak on antennas at next
month's meeting.  Other suggestions:  PSK and AEP electrical safety.

Marty Hartwell/KD8BJ announced that those interested in QRP are invited
to Universal on the first Saturday of each month at 10:30 to ragchew with
other QRP operators.
