The CRES Amateur Radio Club held a meeting over lunch on Wednesday, 21 March 2001. The meeting was called to order by President Gordy Lashley/WD8CZG at 11:40 AM. Those in attendance were: KD8ZG, K8RSP, KD8BJ, WB7AIZ, WD8EBS, WD8CZG, WB9PXH, KC8ORL, KC8HIH, K9RV, K8TX, WA8HPW, KD8UT, N8YXK, KA8ZRT, K8LJ and KD8WK. The Treasurer reported $953.37 was on deposit in Telhio, $23.61 in petty cash, $9.51 on deposit with the CRES Club, and $30 in undeposited dues. Dues for the 2001 calendar year are now being collected. The access code has been changed for the club room, and only those renewing their membership will be eligible to receive it. Gordy again asked for someone to volunteer to chair the Field Day committee. Dave Jeffords/KC8ORL indicated that several interesting programs are in the works: AEP has agreed to send a speaker to talk to us about their RF interference program. Universal Amateur Radio has agreed to host an evening or afternoon meeting where they could showcase their latest amateur gear to the club. Also, Jerry may be able to get someone to talk about MARS. Art Grandle/KD8ZG announced our next test session will be held at the Parkview Presbyterian Church in Reynoldsburg on April 7th. VEs will meet for breakfast at 7:30 AM, or at the church at 9:00 AM to conduct the tests. Other new and old business was deferred and the meeting was adjourned at 11:50 AM to allow Bob Kenyon/K8LJ the most time to give a talk on antennas and feedlines. Bob gave an interesting and useful talk and demonstration of a popular antenna modeling program.
