The CRES amateur radio club held a general membership meeting on 2/22/07 at the New Albany library. The following members and guests were in attendance: Al Mecozzi WA8LBZ, Jim Kerr K8KJ, Tom Foy N4HAI, George Foy N4DLR, Bob Kenyon, K8LJ, Andy Elliott K8LE, Brad Spencer KC8VKS, David Jeffords K8ON, Tricia Kovacs KC8HIH, Dan Merrick K8TX, Michael Myers, Marty Hartwell KD8BJ, Art Grandle KD8ZG, Rick Tressler K8SV, Bill Erwin N9CX, Dave Brown K8AX and Mike Rauh W8GT. After a social hour, the meeting was called to order by president, Bill Erwin N9CX, at 7PM. Bill announced that Bob Cartwright W3CRZ will be our new contest director for 2007. He will continue to organize the field day activities also. Bill also told us that we will be holding club meetings every other month this year. Another subject discussed was that members should email Rob if they have comments on the meeting minutes. Art Grandle KD8ZG gave a report from the repeater committee. One problem is that the remote receiver is down and Dave Woolf K8RSP is working on that. Art and Dave worked on the repeater recently to diagnose the problem with the hum on the repeater when the audio drops down. Art said that the CTS tone is injected before the limiter and they plan to change this to inject the tone after the limiter. Art also reported that he spoke with his contact at Mt. Carmel who told him that they would like us to remove our tower from the building (the one near the old club room). There are 3 or 4 antennas and a rotor on the tower which we plan to remove sometime in the spring. We plan to offer these up for sale to club members or other interested parties. Art also reported that the next VE session will be held on the 2nd weekend in April at Parkview Presbyterian Church on Livingston Ave. Bill Erwin promised that we will have twice as many door prizes at our next meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20PM. Al Mecozzi WA8LBZ next presented a talk on the Logger32 logging program. This is a free software tool developed by Bob Furzer K4CY. Al has been using the product and described several capabilities of the logger and radio & component controller. Al told us that the program has many capabilities, which he estimates he uses 20% of. The presentation concluded at 8:45PM. For more information, contact Al Mecozzi or the website www.logger32.net. Meeting notes submitted by Tricia Kovacs KC8HIH
